About AN ARTIST

Unaware of its significance at the time, I grew up in a family of artists, immersed in a world of vivid inspiration. However, I realized that being an artist wasn’t for me when a clay sculpting class at art school threatened to ruin my freshly polished bright red nails. In a truly democratic fashion, I received my parents' blessing to leave art school. Eventually, I went on to successfully complete a four-year fashion studies program in Berlin.

After establishing my fashion line in Dubai, I was unexpectedly delighted to discover that my fashion sketches received more praise than the garments themselves. This revelation became a turning point, inspiring me to create bold, fashion-infused characters. Immersed in this limitless world of imagination, I began to experiment with exaggerated body proportions and surrealistic compositions, often enhanced by a playful touch of tongue-in-cheek humor.

The body proportions in my artwork are often exaggerated and androgynous, yet always rooted in aesthetics. Over time, my fashion-inspired characters evolved into deeper, swan-like beings. Currently, I’m immersing myself in exploring imagination, delving into themes of self-awareness, identity, spirituality, and the complexities of human existence. My work can be defined as a fusion of aesthetics and surrealism.

Birute has showcased her works in Germany, Dubai, Lithuania and Luxembourg.
